Drs. Róża and Piotr Przanowscy attended the University Convocation, where they were formally introduced as the new full-time faculty at Loyola University Chicago, Stritch School of Medicine. It was also the first opportunity to visit the beautiful Lake Shore Campus and admire the beauty of Lake Michigan.
Drs. Róża and Piotr Przanowscy officially said goodbye to their home in Virginia and moved to Chicagoland. During the transition, their kids discovered a new use for their Cell journal collection.
BME Postdoc Success Committee will forever hold a special place in our memories. So grateful for all the support, laughter, and time spent within this amazing and vibrant community of bright minds. Looking forward to seeing what the future brings to everyone. Thank you for the heartfelt wishes and books; we will put them to good use!
One final lunch in our lab’s favorite restaurant, Inka, on the famous UVA Corner. Thank you, everyone, for coming to say goodbye and for all the gifts and wishes! To all the postdocs departing at the same time: all the best in your future endeavors. And finally, thank you, Kevin, for guiding us through the years, equipping us with the knowledge to stay focused and follow our mission, and, of course, for the pointers to help us literally point the way to our next destination!
Dr. Róża Przanowska was featured in a Postdoc Portrait in The Scientist, discussing her research on long non-coding RNA structures in breast cancer. A wonderful way to mark the close of a chapter of postdoctoral training and the beginning of the next one.
Dr. Piotr Przanowski won a gold medal in Open Longsword and a silver medal in Veterans (40+) at the Kings Cup 2026. Congratulations!
